Practice Drum Set
Making a Practice Drum Set
For many musicians always having access to a
high-quality drum set is hard. This is why having your
own practice drums that available to you at all times is
such a big benefit.
A practice set can be made out of almost
anything, pots, pans, boxes, pails, etc. But the
recommended thing is to buy a low and inexpensive drum
set as your practice drum set.
This way it saves your premium drum set and
allows it to last longer, and it also allows you to have
more than one drum set in different
locations.
Practice pad
Practice drum pads are available from almost all
music stores. They can differ in the quality and the
thickness. If possible try it out in the store before
purchasing it.
Drumsticks
Drumsticks are fairly inexpensive so you can
always have multiple drumsticks laying around. If
possible buy or at least try several different brands,
and compositions of drumsticks to experience the
different sounds that they might
produce.
Snare drum
At a minimum your drum set should have a snare
drum which fits your practice pad.
Drums seat
In a pinch evening a folding chair can work as a
drum seat you don’t need anything special for your
practice.
Get creative
In a pinch almost anything can act as a practice
set. From turned over 5 gallon buckets, to any type of
box. Even different types of counter tops and wood
furniture can be used to bang on.
Some people even make their practice drum sets
out of pots and pans. Which might sound childish but it’s
an expensive way thing to do.
